P.E. and Sport Premium

PE/Sport Premium

Since 2013, the Government has been providing funding for each academic year in order to improve the provision of Physical Education (PE) and sports in primary schools.

We received £19,590 for the academic year 2022-23.  Details of our expenditure are detailed in the document below - Evidencing the Impact of Primary PE and Sport Premium 2022-23.

Queen’s Inclosure Primary has been awarded the ‘School Games Gold Mark’ for five consecutive years. In 2022/23 we were working towards our Platinum Award and are delighted to have been awarded the Platinum Mark.

Swimming

Since 2017, schools must publish how many pupils within their Year 6 cohort are meeting the national curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres, use a range of strokes effectively and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

Below is the data for our Year 6 cohort 2022-23:

Meeting national curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety

What percentage of your Year 6 pupils could swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres when they left your primary school at the end of last academic year?

Schools can choose to use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to provide additional provision for swimming but this must be for activity over and above the national curriculum requirements. Have you used it in this way?

Yes

“Sport has a high profile in the school and pupils talked keenly about the successes that Queen’s Inclosure’s various sports teams have had in recent competitions.”

OFSTED 2018

“Sport is a strength of the school.  Additional funding for sport is being effectively used to provide opportunities for pupils to experience a wide range of sport taught by specialists, improving their physical skills and their understanding of how to lead a healthy lifestyle. Pupils particularly enjoy sports activities during their break times.”
