Educational Visits
Our curriculum is enriched by educational on-site/off-site visits. These are planned to enhance children’s understanding by providing stimulating, first hand experiences. Visits are appropriate to the age and needs of the children. Parents are asked to make a voluntary contribution to the cost of such visits.
We visit many different places including:
Foundation | Farm visit to QI |
Year 1 | Manor Farm / ZooLab Visit |
Year 2 | New Forest Wildlife Park / Sea City Museum / Arundel Castle |
Year 3 | Winchester Science Museum / Butser Ancient Farm |
Year 4 | Stubbington Residential / Sustainability Centre / Birdworld |
Year 5 | Planetarium Visit / Chichester Harbour |
Year 6 | Fort Purbrook Junior Citizenship Event / Hillier’s Garden / Marchant’s Hill Residential |
The school adheres to a comprehensive Educational Off-Site Visits Policy, which requires detailed risk assessments and complies with strict health and safety procedures. This policy is based on Hampshire’s current “Education Off-site Activities” and “Safety in Hazardous Pursuits” guidance. All off-site activities are agreed by governors.
Visitors into School
We also invite a variety of visitors into school to help enhance our curriculum. Visitors bring with them a passion for what they do, which can be used positively to support our children’s learning.
Visitors include:
- Hampshire Music Service
- Rev Sandra Platford (Waterlooville Baptist Church)
- Hampshire Constabulary - Safer Neighbourhood Team Hampshire
- Hampshire Fire Service
- Actors as part of performances to the children
