Coronavirus Information and Current School Communication
The school is currently closed, except to provide emergency childcare for children of key workers in critical sectors, vulnerable children and those with an EHCP.
Although we are endeavouring to keep parents informed about the situation, we are not in a position to provide health advice, or to advise regarding self-isolation. Instead, please see the links in the section below:
Spring Term 2020
Text (18.3.2020): Unfortunately we are unable to send individual learning home to children who are self-isolating. In the event of a closure, learning will be made available via our website.
Text (18.3.2020): Stay at home guidance from Public Health England has changed. Please check their webpage for up to date advice. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection
Text: (19.3.2020): The school is open today as usual. We will communicate further information to parents as soon as possible.
Email (14.4.20): We have been asked to share the attached poster produced by The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and Wessex Healthier Together, to raise awareness that parents should continue to get medical assistance for their child during COVID-19. Medical services are still open, and parents with an ill child should continue to seek advice and support from GPs, 111 etc in a timely manner to prevent illnesses becoming more serious. A link to this poster is also available on the Coronavirus Information page of the QI website. We hope that you and your families are keeping well.
Summer Term 2020
Please remember that the proposal to begin the phased return of pupils to primary schools at the beginning of June is still contingent upon the public health criteria being met. Equally, the timing to extend the re-opening of schools to other year groups remains unconfirmed.
1st July 2020: The Government has confirmed that schools are not being asked to stay open during the summer break. For any families who may be interested, Connect4Summer is running in our local area (Park Community School) from 29th July to 25th August. The programme includes:
- FREE Family Fun Days for any parent and child to attend (including a FREE 2-course hot meal at lunchtime)
- FREE Holiday Childcare for working parents (10 sessions), whose child is eligible for Free School Meals (FSM).
