Dragons' Den
Two groups of four children recently had the exciting opportunity to attend Crookhorn School and take part in their annual Dragons’ Den competition. The challenge involved designing a storyboard based on a new story of their choice, using air-dry modelling clay to create key elements, and then presenting their work to the group and teachers from the college.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed the morning, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and presentation skills. We're thrilled to share that one of our groups was crowned the overall winner!
Year 6 Outdoor Adventurous Activities
Eleven children from Year 6 had a fantastic day out at Staunton Country Park, taking part in a series of outdoor adventurous activities. The pupils explored the beautiful park and its grounds, working together on orienteering challenges, yoga sessions, and team-building games. They also enjoyed making delicious fruit kebabs and took part in healthy eating activities, helping them learn about making good choices while having fun in the fresh air. The children showed brilliant teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the day!
Year 5/6 Tennis Festival
Twelve children from Years 5 and 6 visited HTC to take part in a Tennis Festival this term. During the event, they learned the rules of doubles tennis, practised the scoring system, and played several friendly matches against other local schools. The children represented the school brilliantly and were awarded the Spirit of the Games trophy for demonstrating the School Games Values of Honesty, Teamwork, Respect, Passion, and Determination. A fantastic achievement.
Key Stage 2 Enrichment Day
Children in Years 3 to 6 had a fantastic time taking part in our KS2 Enrichment Day, where they experienced a range of unique and exciting activities. From rock climbing and the leap of faith to caving, archery, and fencing, each year group tackled at least three different activities. It was wonderful to see all the children showing tremendous determination and resilience as they faced their fears and challenged themselves. Well done to everyone for embracing the adventure and making the most of this brilliant opportunity!
Key Stage 1 Enrichment Day
Despite the unpredictable weather, our KS1 children had a wonderful time during their enrichment day. The pupils bounced their way through Boogie Bounce sessions, showing great determination to keep going even in the rain. They also enjoyed exploring the history and moves of Bollywood and Indian dancing in an energetic workshop with Bollywood Vibes. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, energy and enjoyment throughout the day.
