Year 2 Girls’ Shooting Stars Football Festival

Eleven girls from Year 2 represented the school brilliantly at the Year 1/2 Girls’ Shooting Stars Football Festival. Despite the heat, the girls showed fantastic effort and resilience as they rotated around a series of exciting skill stations. They learnt new football techniques, including dribbling, passing, and shooting, and impressed everyone with their teamwork and determination. It was a brilliant opportunity for the girls to enjoy the game and develop their confidence in a fun, supportive environment.

Year 1 Racket Skills Festival

Ten enthusiastic Year 1 pupils took part in the Racket Skills Festival held at a local tennis club. The children enjoyed working through a carousel of 10 fun tennis-themed activities designed to develop their control, coordination and teamwork. Each team was encouraged to demonstrate the ‘Spirit of the Games’ values, including respect, determination and passion. The children had a fantastic time, cheering each other on and showing off their growing racket skills.

Year 1 Target Festival

A group of ten Year 1 children had a fantastic time at the Target Festival hosted by a local secondary school. The day began with a fun and energetic warm-up on the school field, before the children moved on to a carousel of exciting target-based activities in the MUGA area. The stations, including archery, bowling, cricket and football challenges, all focused on developing hand-eye and foot-eye coordination. Led by brilliant secondary school leaders, the children aimed to beat their personal bests, cheered on their friends and enjoyed every moment of active learning and play.
