As we approach the end of the school year, we are beginning the process of organising classes and teaching teams for September. As part of this planning, we sometimes reorganise children within a year group when staff feel it will support the overall learning, development, and wellbeing of the cohort.
This year, we will reshuffle the current Year 2 children into new class groups for Year 3 and the current Year 3 children into new class groups for Year 4.
All other children—those currently in Foundation, Year 1, Year 4 and Year 5—will move up to their next year with the same class group they are in this year.
We’ve seen many positive outcomes from previous class mixes, including:
1. Balanced class sizes and a more even mix of boys and girls (especially important as children join or leave throughout the year)
2. Fair distribution of learning needs and strengths, supporting every child’s progress
3. Opportunities for children to build new friendships and develop important social skills
While we cannot accept requests for specific teachers, we welcome any comments you wish to share to help us place your child thoughtfully. Please understand that we may not be able to meet every request, but your input is always valued and considered carefully.
We’d also like to reassure you that friendships are a priority in our planning. Every child will be placed with at least one friend from their current class.
If you wish to provide comments, please submit this form by Friday, 23rd May. Even if you've raised something previously, please include it in the form again to ensure nothing is missed during this process.
Thank you for your continued support—we’re excited to see the children grow and thrive as they move into the next stage of their school journey.
