Team Gymnastics Experience – Year 3

A group of 10 Year 3 pupils recently attended an exciting Team Gymnastics session at Portsmouth School of Gymnastics, where they were given the opportunity to develop a range of new skills in a specialist environment.

During the session, the children explored a variety of apparatus, including vaults, trampolines and foam pits, and worked on key gymnastics movements such as forward rolls. They also collaborated to create and perform a simple floor routine, demonstrating creativity, teamwork and growing confidence.

All of the children had a wonderful time and represented the school impeccably, showing excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and effort throughout the experience. Well done to everyone involved.

                                                              

Sportshall Athletics Success – Year 5 & 6

Sportshall Athletics is one of the most prestigious and long-standing events on the school sports calendar, and this year our pupils rose to the occasion in outstanding fashion.

Following a robust week-long trial process, 12 Year 5 and 6 pupils were selected to represent the school at the Sportshall Athletics competition. They competed against 11 schools and over 125 children, taking part in a wide range of track and field events, including javelin, relay races, triple jump and sprint events.

The team performed exceptionally well under pressure, finishing 1st or 2nd in every track event and placing in the top three in 10 out of 12 field events. This remarkable consistency across the whole team resulted in QI being crowned Havant and Waterlooville Sportshall Athletics Champions.

The team will now go on to represent the cluster at the County Finals. Well done to all of our amazing athletes for their commitment, determination and teamwork — a fantastic achievement.
