Year 1 Tag Rugby Festival

Ten enthusiastic children from Year 1 took part in an exciting tag rugby festival held at Hart Plain Junior School. The event was expertly led by our very own Year 6 Sports Leaders from Queen’s Inclosure. The festival involved a range of fun and skill-building stations where the children practised passing, tagging, scoring tries, and even had a go at kicking for distance! It was a brilliant afternoon full of energy and teamwork, and all the children did incredibly well — scoring lots of points and showing great determination.

Year 6 Sports Leaders Shine at Rugby Festival

Huge congratulations to our 13 Year 6 Sports Leaders who led the Havant and Waterlooville cluster’s Key Stage 1 Rugby Festival. These young leaders spent several days planning and preparing for the event, where they were responsible for setting up, explaining activities, keeping scores, and giving positive feedback to children from five local schools. Impressively, our QI Sports Leaders are the youngest ever group to lead a cluster-wide event — a fantastic achievement they should be extremely proud of!

Year 4 Cricket Festival

Ten children from Year 4 recently represented QI at a cricket festival, where they developed key skills in batting, bowling, and fielding. The children worked on techniques such as the straight drive, the pull shot, and overarm bowling. They also took part in cricket-themed games, often teaming up with pupils from other schools. It was great to see their confidence grow throughout the event — with excellent teamwork, focus, and a real eagerness to learn on show.

Year 3 Netball Experience

Our Year 3 children had a brilliant opportunity to explore netball at Cowplain Secondary School. Ten pupils took part in a fun and engaging introduction to the sport, applying their prior knowledge and PE skills to understand the basics of netball. They rotated through a series of skill stations and even played in some mini matches. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and sportsmanship — they really did QI proud!

 Year 5 & 6 Swimming Gala Success

Twelve children from Years 5 and 6 took part in the Silver Swimming Gala at Barncroft Primary this half term. With our Year 5 team stepping in at the last minute, they had only a few hours to prepare but rose to the challenge with confidence! Each swimmer competed in two individual races — including front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke — and also contributed to team relays in various strokes. Our swimmers impressed across the board, with both teams winning races. We’re delighted to share that our Year 5 team earned Silver and our Year 6 team brought home the Gold — a fantastic achievement for all involved!

Year 4 Ready Steady Cook

Six children from year 4 went to Crookhorn College for their annual 'Ready Steady Cook' festival.

They had a great time designing and making their very own pizza and even designed the box to take them home.
